In the 2024 new spring semester, the GBase 8a MPP Cluster GDCA certification training has been fully upgraded. The training materials have been updated from version 8a  9.5.2 to the latest version 9.5.3, with updates in chapters covering principles, installation, and management. The GBase official website offers the 8a v9.5.3 free version installation package for download. The training center plans tohold the "GBase 8a MPP Cluster Certification Training Course" (the second session of 2024) on March 6th. This is a completely free certification training. Those who pass the exam will receive a free electronic certification certificate with domestic database certification qualifications. Everyone is encouraged to sign up enthusiastically!!

Product Introduction and New Version Updates

GBase 8a MPP Cluster (hereinafter referred to as "8a Cluster") is a domestically leading, independently developed large-scale distributed parallel database cluster system by Nanda General Technology. It possesses the capability to meet the growing demands for data analysis, data mining, data backup, and ad-hoc queries across various data-intensive industries. It has been deployed at scale in hundreds of users, including the CBRC, Agricultural Bank of China, China Mobile, and the General Administration of Customs, with a total of over 35,000 deployed nodes managing over 400PB of data.

  • Version V9.5.3 implements over 100 functional requirements. Compared to V9.5.2, the main improvements and enhancements are:

1. Enhanced Stability: GCware is decoupled and separated from GCluster. The three functional clusters—GCluster scheduling cluster, Data computing cluster, and GCware management cluster—can be deployed independently, with clearer responsibilities. It supports a node status monitoring mechanism to improve cluster stability and enhances the stability of the node replacement process;

2. Performance Improvement: Supports multi-instance deployment to improve overall cluster performance, especially in NUMA architecture server environments; improves performance for small file loading, union queries, and dblink in high network latency scenarios;

3. Compatibility Enhancement: Enhanced function and syntax compatibility with heterogeneous databases such as Oracle, GreenPlum, and Teradata; supports loading data in orc and json formats;

4. Security Enhancement: Refined management of drop permissions and unmask data masking permissions, transparent storage encryption supports national cryptographic algorithms, and supports Kafka security authentication.

  • GBase 8a MPP Cluster GDCA certification training has been upgraded, with 40% of the content updated. The main changes are:

1. Gcware and Gcluster are separated and can be deployed on different nodes.

2. GBase 8a database provides a v9.5.3 nolicense free version, no license application is required.

3. There is no limit on the number of Gcluster nodes, while the number of Gcware nodes is limited to 64.

Course Introduction

This course starts from the basics of the 8a cluster product, explaining the principles and basic usage of the 8a cluster database. The entire course is divided into two stages: learning and examination, 10 days of learning, 1 mock exam, and 2 certification exam opportunities. The entire course organizes training and exams in an online learning camp format. Through a scientifically reasonable arrangement, participants can progressively and easily master the fundamentals of domestic databases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Help students understand the working principles, functional features, and deployment strategies of the 8a cluster, and help them establish basic concepts of database MPP architecture.

  • Enable students to master the installation, management, and maintenance of the 8a cluster database, and be able to solve some issues related to abnormal cluster status.

  • Enable students to master data operations on a single virtual cluster database, including adding, deleting, modifying, and querying data within the database, managing and assigning user permissions, and viewing system tables.

  • March 6th - 15th: One day's course content unlocked daily at 6 AM

  • March 16th - 20th: Certification Exam (2 attempts)

  • Targeted at database management, operation and maintenance, and development personnel;

  • Requires personnel with a certain foundation in Linux and databases.

Training Process

  • Registration: To participate in the training, you must first register. After successful registration, you can proceed with learning (available on mobile, tablet, or computer).

  • Email Notification: On the course start day and the day before the exam, registered students will receive training notification emails for course commencement and exams. Please check your mailbox (ensure the email address is correct).

  • WeChat Study Group: After successful registration, the teacher's corporate WeChat will pop up. It is recommended to add the teacher as a friend and leave a message with "8a, the name and phone number used during registration". After verifying the information, you will be invited to join the study and exchange group (joining is voluntary for registered students, group rules must be followed, no unrelated persons allowed).

  • Class Format: Online video recorded courses. During the learning phase, one course section is unlocked at 6 AM daily. Study time can be arranged independently.

  • Exercises: After-class exercises + mock exams to promptly test learning outcomes.

  • Certification Exam: Online exam. Exam vouchers will be issued upon meeting learning conditions. Those who pass the exam will receive a free GBase Management Engineer certification certificate (electronic).
