[GBASE Event] GBase 8s Database 2022 First Training Successfully Concluded

As spring warms and flowers bloom, the GBASE Training Center held the "First 2022 GBase 8s Database Training Class" which concluded in mid-May. Over 400 people registered for this training. After two weeks of study, the certification exam was held from April 28 to May 4, with more than 200 participants taking the exam and 192 passing, earning the GBase 8s Database Administrator Engineer certificate.
There were 109 people with exam scores of 90 or above, among whom 14 with scores above 97 were selected for the outstanding trainee list of this session and received a free printed GBase Administrator Engineer certificate!

The printed certificates for this training were shipped starting May 16. Due to the pandemic, deliveries to some areas such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Hebei may be delayed. Trainees, please keep an eye out for your delivery!
Upcoming training schedule:
May 2022: "GBase 8a MPP Cluster Certification May 2022 Training"
June 2022: "GBase 8s Certification June 2022 Training"
Outstanding Trainees Talk About the Training
Some of the outstanding trainees from this session sent their training summaries, learning experiences, and suggestions for GBASE's GBase database to the instructors. We appreciate everyone's enthusiastic support for domestic databases. Excerpts are provided below for your reading.
Mao Rui, Senior Architecture Design Engineer at Baosight Software: The main reason I participated in this GBase training is that our company selected GBase 8s as the database software for the Chongqing Metro project, so we are currently involved in extensive database transformation and adaptation work for existing software to GBase 8s. This training gave me a comprehensive understanding of GBase 8s's product positioning and basic usage. The training materials will also help with introductory use of GBase in subsequent project development and facilitate the implementation of GBase in future projects.
Qi Yongxiang, Software Development Engineer at Chinasoft International: I wasn't very familiar with domestic databases, but after completing the 8s training, I deeply felt the strength of domestic databases: superior performance, comprehensive functions, strong compatibility, and disaster recovery assurance. The training course was well-structured, progressing step by step from basic to advanced. Especially providing virtual machines for hands-on practice with installation and uninstallation deepened my understanding. Through this 8s database training, I gained a lot of knowledge. I hope our domestic databases become stronger and stronger, and I hope GBase domestic database becomes more and more perfect, bringing us more convenience.
Zhang Yufei, IT Consulting Advisor at China Electronics Corporation: I am a newcomer in IT pre-sales for the financial industry, with about a year of experience. In the planning and integration implementation of Xinchuang (indigenous innovation) projects in banking, insurance, and securities industries, GBase 8s has been applied multiple times in high-end transactional application systems as a Xinchuang database to replace Oracle. In Xinchuang projects, we often build on the currently mainstream autonomous and controllable Phytium+Kylin information technology infrastructure, i.e., the PKS system. Since the PKS architecture uses the ARM instruction set rather than the traditional X86 instruction set, I was very eager to grasp the technical details of Xinchuang products and the technical roadmap of the Xinchuang industry at both micro and macro levels for the two different instruction sets during my study of Xinchuang products. After communicating with the GBASE training instructor, my learning needs were met. I was able to use GBASE's X86 architecture cloud virtual machine resources and my department's ARM architecture server resources to practice and operate on both architectures simultaneously, which was very rewarding. The Xinchuang industry is developing rapidly. Product vendors, builders, and implementers all need to keep learning and advancing with the industry. GBASE will surely become a supporting and core force in the Xinchuang industry. Let us strive together for the Xinchuang industry!
Feng Yongshi, After-Sales Engineer in Data Storage: When I participated in the implementation of a Xinchuang project in 2019, I encountered the GBase 8s database for the first time. Because GBase 8s was related to our storage devices, I originally planned to learn it, but couldn't find suitable resources and gradually forgot about it, leaving many regrets. When I saw the news about GBase 8s online training in a WeChat group, I actively joined the April GBase 8s online training and initially mastered the basics of GBase 8s installation and uninstallation, operating mode switching, data types, common functions, data backup and recovery, etc. I will periodically review the videos, set up a test environment, and consolidate the knowledge points taught by the instructor through testing. The project I worked on in 2019 has seen GBase 8s running normally for three years. I am grateful for this systematic training content, which made up for my previous regrets, and I look forward to it helping with my after-sales work in the future.
Yang Kai, Database Administrator at Inner Mongolia Kedian Data: Domestic databases are now in the best era, flourishing like a hundred flowers in bloom. Considering information security, Sino-US relations, the recent Oracle sanctions on Russia, and Oracle's attitude toward China, it is not hard to see that future Oracle users in China face significant after-sales support risks. De-Oraclization is urgent. Domestic databases represented by GBASE have been honed through real projects in recent years, and as long as customers agree, they are fully capable of replacing Oracle. In a project at a management center of the Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission, GBase was used. During use, it was commendable in terms of operation and maintenance habits and stability, fully possessing the advantages to replace Oracle, though database diagnosis, optimization, and monitoring tools still need improvement.
Yang Qun, Project Manager at Neusoft Group: Invited by a friend, I joined the GBase 8s online training. With China's development and the international situation, the localization of the IT industry is becoming increasingly urgent. Operating systems, databases, and middleware are the three major infrastructures of the IT industry. These three parts need to complete domestic substitution as soon as possible. Participating in this training is to follow the trend of the times, truly master domestic database operation and maintenance skills, and break the US technological hegemony. Through these days of study and practice, with experience using Oracle databases, I can operate and use the GBase database very easily. The replacement cost and learning cost in future projects will be very low, and I can become proficient quickly. I am very grateful to GBASE for organizing this training. I was fortunate to participate and learned great knowledge and skills.
