Product Introduction

GBase 8s is a mature and stable database cluster based on shared storage, independently developed by GBASE with proprietary intellectual property rights. The product meets the Level 4 standard for secure databases (International B2), supports national cryptographic algorithms, and supports international database specifications and development interfaces such as SQL92/99, ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET, GCI(OCI/OCCI), and Python interface. It supports centralized deployment, high-availability deployment with shared storage, and high-availability deployment across two or three data centers, featuring high capacity, high concurrency, and high performance.

GBase 8s is suitable for OLTP application scenarios, including key core business systems in industries such as finance, telecommunications, government and enterprises, and security. Against the backdrop of an increasingly severe security situation, GBase 8s has become a mainstream domestic database product for de-IOE, capable of replacing Oracle in over 90% of scenarios.

Course Introduction

This course starts from the basics of GBase 8s, covering its principles, installation and deployment, management and maintenance, and basic SQL development. Through learning, participants will be able to quickly deploy GBase 8s database clusters based on shared storage in a Linux environment and master basic GBase 8s operation and maintenance tasks: installation and deployment, management and maintenance, data import/export, backup, and other functions.

The entire course is divided into two phases: learning and examination, consisting of 14 days of study, 1 mock test, and 2 certification exam attempts. The entire course is organized through an online learning platform. Through a scientifically reasonable arrangement, participants can progressively and easily master the basic knowledge of domestic databases.

Training Schedule

  • April 1-10: Enrollment
  • April 11-24: Learning, unlocking one lesson per day
  • April 28-30: Certification Exam (2 attempts)

Feedback from Previous Participants

Project Manager, Shandong Mobile System: The GBase 8s training is truly a feast of knowledge. The course arrangement is rich, reasonable, and compact; the learning atmosphere in the training camp is harmonious and active; and the video blog materials are practical and easy to understand. New video courses are unlocked daily, with appropriate video lengths, and there are convenient directory links within the WeChat group. You can learn using fragmented time during daily routines. The instructors explain the course content, from basic principles to practical operations, very clearly and thoroughly. Moreover, within the training camp's WeChat group, GBASE instructors and participants are enthusiastic and active, providing timely answers to every question raised. Additionally, the blog content by GBASE instructor Ji Hui is closely aligned with practical applications; practicing from start to finish is absolutely an excellent introductory material.

Development Engineer, Software Center of a Bank: This course lasted 14 days. As beginners with no prior knowledge, we learned the principles of the 8s database, installation and deployment, management and maintenance, and basic SQL development through online courses. Through these courses, we were able to master basic GBase 8s operation and maintenance operations, such as installation and deployment, management and maintenance, data import/export, and backup. The instructor also conducted practical demonstrations, and the explanations were very detailed. I feel the course is very practical and valuable. At the same time, the instructor also provided us with the courseware in HTML format, allowing us to study against the course materials and review them at any time even after class. Overall, I have benefited greatly from the entire course and hope to continue learning other GBase knowledge.

Teacher, Information School of a Vocational College: I come from a school environment where all we encounter are foreign databases; it always felt like something was missing. Through this training, I discovered that domestic databases are not inferior; they better align with the usage habits of us Chinese and are worth promoting. A domestic database course could be established in schools to cultivate and influence a group of students, gradually advancing the use of domestic databases and promoting their wider development.

Architect, Hubei Archives Technology Company: The free GBase training opportunity gave me a completely new understanding of GBASE products. The training covered a lot of content, and I spent a few days focusing on it. The information in the videos was very useful; I tested most of the content, and the database's SQL statement compatibility is also very good. Except for some specific syntax, it is largely compatible with common database products. By trying it out, I migrated previous projects to the GBase database and found it quite simple. One point particularly worth mentioning is that the training is free. In contrast, similar training from other vendors can cost thousands, which I think shows integrity. It's evident that GBASE is building its own ecosystem, not just focused on 'money'. I believe the products made by such a conscientious enterprise will also be excellent.

Data Architect, Jiangsu Taxpayer Service: This training was organized in the form of an online training camp, which was very convenient. Not only was the training free, but a cloud environment was also provided for participants to practice hands-on. The most delightful aspect was the instructors' incredibly meticulous explanations of the key points, getting right to the core of the matter. The instructors were also very patient and timely in answering our questions in the group. Thanks to the instructors, and also thanks to the fellow learners who shared problems encountered during the learning process.

Database Developer, CETC Digital Technology (Pactera): Overall, this was a rewarding, joyful, and technically enhancing training experience that I will never forget! Thanks again to the training instructors; they were the beacon illuminating my journey with domestic databases.
