[GBASE Training] GBase 8a MPP CLuster Database 2022 3rd Training Successfully Concluded

The training center of Nanda General Technology concluded the third "GBase 8a MPP Cluster Database Certification May Training Class" in the Year of the Tiger at the end of June. Nearly 450 people registered for this training. After two weeks of study, the 8a certification exam was held from June 1 to 5, with 244 participants taking the exam, and 225 passed, earning the GBase 8a MPP Cluster Database Administrator Certificate.
A total of 125 people scored 90 or above, among whom 16 achieved excellent results and were listed on the outstanding trainees list of this training, receiving a free paper certificate for GBase Database Administrator!

This training has been successfully concluded. Paper certificates were shipped on June 23. Delivery may be delayed in some areas due to the pandemic, please check for yours!
Outstanding Trainees Talk About Training
Some outstanding trainees from this session sent their training summaries, learning experiences, and suggestions for Nanda General Technology's GBase database to the instructors. We appreciate everyone's enthusiastic support for the domestic database. Here are some excerpts for your reading.
Chengfang Financial Information System Administrator Peng Zhuang: Through this training, I learned that GBase 8a is positioned as a NewSQL analytical database, and gained a preliminary understanding of its core technology concepts, including columnar storage, compressed storage, intelligent indexing, parallel computing, cluster high availability, data integration, and other relevant knowledge points. It was quite comprehensive, and hands-on guidance allowed me to independently complete database installation, daily monitoring commands, common O&M operations, SQL operations, etc. What surprised me most was the extensive introduction and summary of SQL concepts. Previously, my understanding of SQL was very superficial, staying at a surface level without depth. The training included the instructors' extensive summary and practical experience with SQL, including DDL, DML, DQL, DCL, and some common instructions for system databases. Through these days of training, I have gained a deeper understanding and mastery of SQL, laying a more solid foundation for comprehending complex SQL encountered in future O&M processes.
Project Manager Zha Tianjie, Nanjing Ruiyue Technology Co., Ltd.: When I first encountered the GBase database, a series of questions came to mind: Is the installation of domestic databases cumbersome? Are there special OS requirements? Is later maintenance and upgrade convenient? Is original data migration easy? Does SQL need major changes? With these questions, I started with GBase's introductory video and, through courses on installation, configuration parameters, tuning, basic DML, DDL, etc., I found that these concerns might have been overblown. In the course, the manufacturer has properly handled all aspects that should be considered. Combined with the authoritative explanations from the training instructor, the previous problems were easily solved, and it also provided some inspiration for my current work. While attempting to deploy and use the GBase database, I further deepened my understanding of GBase. Its distributed, cluster-based management model makes both vertical and horizontal expansion convenient and fast, reducing big data storage costs. Thanks to JDBC support and international SQL execution standards, developers save additional learning costs, while also reducing project development costs and cycles.
Yang Qun, Project Manager at Neusoft Group: In April 2022, at the invitation of a friend, I participated in the online training for GBase 8s. This training made me realize the encouraging situation of domestic databases, which are fully capable and confident to replace foreign databases. Therefore, I continued to participate in the public training for GBase 8a MPP Cluster in May. These two trainings let me feel the power of domestic databases, especially GBase 8a MPP Cluster. Whether in architectural design, parallel computing, security management, performance standards, integration and expansion, stability and reliability, GBase 8a MPP Cluster demonstrated its strong strength. In future projects, I will prepare to use the GBase 8a MPP Cluster database as needed.
Data Development Engineer Wang Huiping, China Academy of Railway Sciences: Due to business needs of my company, I participated in the GBase 8a cluster training course held by Nanda General Technology in May 2022. Previously, my work mostly involved mainstream foreign databases. This was my first contact with a domestic database, and I participated with a curious mindset. This systematic study gave me a more thorough understanding of the GBase database as a whole. In our daily work, we use the GBase database for thematic analysis. The distributed performance of the GBase database is very user-friendly, and the specific execution process can be seen in the SQL execution plan, which is very helpful for SQL tuning. The training course was reasonably arranged, with one lesson unlocked per day, just right, providing a relaxed learning pace with flexible study time. Interactions with the instructor in the group were always promptly answered. Thanks to the instructors for their patient company!
DBA Yang Wen, Shanghai Action Technology Co., Ltd.: As 'neck-holding' incidents between major countries have occurred frequently in recent years, China has increasingly emphasized the localization of information technology innovation. Learning and using domestic databases is no longer an 'option' but a 'must'. My first encounter with the GBase database was during casual chats with colleagues. Since I hadn't used it before, it felt a bit awkward. Then I started to gradually read the official documentation. Later, I participated in GBase-related training. In this GBase8a training system (there are many GBase product lines, and it's recommended to learn about them all when time permits), the main courses cover the installation, uninstallation, upgrade, and SQL development of the 8a cluster. The course unlocks one lesson per day, allowing for fragmented learning, which is quite suitable for us office workers. At the same time, there is a related study exchange group, where both the instructor and other students are good at discussing problems, so you won't worry about your questions going unanswered during the training.
